To be honest with you, it's part of a (wooden) wall panel from the first class lounge. When Titanic went down, this large wall panel was found floating by a passing ship. James Cameron replicated that piece for the movie for Rose to climb onto ('m suprised no one else had climbed before Rose did). Have a nice day! :^) |

rose was floating on water sorry elmorox couldnt help that 1, yes rip1912 was right it was part of a wooden wall panel good question tho

Actually, what I REMEMBER is it was a part of the Grand Staircase. The side railing maybe? Oh and I got this cool picture. Lemme' see if I can get it attatched

I'm not familiar with this design above any actual window from photographs I have seen. The relief appears to be a crest or a close represntion of. Has anyone?

I have gone back through all my references. The panel is wood finished so that limits it to only a few places. There is not enough ceiling in most areas to support a relief "Above" the window even in First Class dining. The Grand Stairway does not support anything close to the relief. I'm not sure it is a true decorative panel over a window.
