I do believe that he photograph in question was taken when Titanic's prominade had not yet been inclosed (A feature that was added later towards the end of construction). This is why both ships on this photo have open prominades. Furthermore, the picture was taken when Olympic needed to be dry-docked due to a thrown propeller blade that needed replacing. This caused the Titanic to be removed from the dry-dock and moored at the fitting-out dock (work was halted resulting in a series of delays in Titanic's maiden voyage. The other delay being the coal strike during the winter of 1912). Titanic is on the right and Olympic on the left. If you count the portholes on the Starboard Forecastle deck and compare it to other Titanic photo's you will see that it is indeed Titanic because Olympic's portholes were in a different arrangement. I do believe whole-heartedly that your teacher is right. Sorry bell.

She is wrong. For see even though it's true about the enclosed promenade deck not being installed till the later stages, this photo was taken in mid march, Titanic did have it's work done then, also if you look at the windows below the promenade deck they are evenly spaced, Titanic at that point had her new design. You are correct that the port holes are different designs, however both ships are seen from there starbord side so you cannot prove it. For those reasons and more I'm convinced I am correct

Okay bell you might be right. But consider this. Why would Olympic be fitting out next to the fitting out crane and Titanic already be painted black and in service?

Possibly coinsidence, for example, most of Titanic's heavy peaces would already be in. Onlu one dry doch could take a ship of there size, so both would be going in and out all the time, so for the photo, it would't matter

Besides if they left the promanade deck unclosed at this point then they have the grand total of 11 days to do all the changes. Don't make me laugh, if you believe that then you may as well believe the conspiracy

Nope I don't believe the conspiracy, but I do value your opinion. Yes you surely do present a good case. And it is always interesting when discussing new theories regarding photo's. One thing we both can agree upon is that the two sister ships look very much alike. And that does cause some interesting debating, which is nice and exciting.

Thanks bell

this conspiracy thing has been going on for quite a while now.

I wish we would all agree on one thing.
