Bess,
Found this for you:
Re: Cornwall

The modern English name is derived from the tribal name Cornovii and the Anglo-Saxon word wealas meaning "foreigners". Cornovii may mean "horn [i.e. peninsula] people". Wealas is also the origin of the name Wales.

Bess,
Found it !!!!!
It is said that the origin of the name Liverpool may trace back to the first century AD, when there was a settlement among the banks of the River Mersey, next to a muddy creek, known as a "lifrugpool". Whether true or not, at the beginning of the 13th century, King John issued a charter to the town of "Livpul" for the development of a seaport.

Teamtuna,
I clicked the search key and put in Liverpool, and origin of the name, Liverpool and History. When I did not find anything there it suggested google.

Anyway this is the site:
www.britannia.com

I try every combination I can think of when I am "searching" for something. Some times it works and other times??
